Gotelee Solicitors has recently appointed Charles Rowett as its new chief executive to succeed Alistair Lang who is retiring after three years at the firm. Brian Morron is to retire as senior partner after16 years in the role to hand over Peter Crix, currently head of the Wills and Probate department at the firm.

Charles Rowett has lived in the Woodbridge area for over 20 years and he held executive roles locally in Gist-brocades UK and Hutchison Ports as well as in financial services and management consulting.  Most recently he was CEO at Yorkshire Cancer Research, the largest independent cancer charity in England. He said: “I’m delighted to be coming back to Suffolk and to joining Gotelee at such an exciting time."

The firm has an outstanding reputation in the region and there are enormous opportunities to build on the excellent work of Alistair and the Partners in a market that is changing rapidly.”The Gotelee team includes local lawyers Max Harnden and Petra Sharp in the business law world.  Andrew West and Brian Morron help solve employment disputes.  In commercial property, Martin Whitworth leads the team.  Howard Catherall and Victoria Spellman lead the general commercial dispute resolution team.  Tax planning and safeguarding the family silver falls to Peter Crix and his colleagues.

Not only does Gotelee face the business market place, but also the private legal services needs of the local community.  The team advising on succession planning and Wills, again, led by Peter Crix.  Hugh Rowland advises businesses and individuals who may have broken the law, while matters of divorce or child care are dealt with by the team led by Helen Stuart.  If you’re buying and selling your home, Gotelee has a large team dedicated to just that.
