A major speculative industrial scheme involving 68,000 sq ft of warehouse and industrial space in Sawston, south Cambridgeshire and expected to be worth £12 million, is to be developed by a London-based commmercial property firm Salmon Harvester Properties.

The first phase of 11 warehouses at Cambridge South will range from 1,650 to 22,000 sq ft and will be built on four acres of a seven-acre site. Work is set to start in the Autumn with completion in mid-2018. Salmon director Pat Mahoney said: “Having reviewed the striking imbalance between supply and demand of new industrial units in the Cambridge region, we have decided to build out this consented scheme. We anticipate very strong occupier interest in our units and expect a number to be pre-let ahead of practical completion”.

The scheme is close to the M1 and A11-A505 junction and  Savills and Carter Jonas are joint agents. Salmon Harvester Properties is a jv between Salmon Developments and National Farmers Union Mutual Insurance Co.
